Whereas the flowers are traditionally harvested and worked with for oil infusions, the Mullein leaves make for a lung-loving tincture. This extraction has been a personal comfort and favorite of mine, when myself or kids are needing a gentle relief from dry coughs. Due to the moistening, demulcent energy, Mullein leaves can be beautifully hydrating to the respiratory system.
Indigenous people of the Southwestern United States traded Mullein with the French living among them, to treat irregular beating of the heart and palpitations.
